This silly meme has been floating around the Internet, and I can’t get over how wrong it is.Now, credit where it’s due: the Japanese manufacturers have made some fine engines over the years. However, this “Top 6” list is filled with so many factual inaccuracies, it’s driving me insane. The Toyota 2J is a good pick, it’s durable, available and a good basis for making power, fair enough. In much the same way, the RB26 is a fine engine. It sounds neat, and has that smooth straight-six pull. I’ll even give it the 4G63: these engines are based on an ancient design, that can trace it’s roots back some 40+ years. In fact, it may one of the few good things Mitsubishi has eve done outside of making refrigerators.That’s where it ends though. The Nissan SR20 is useless is you’re trying to shoot for more than about 250whp. Don’t get me, or really anyone, started on what a disaster the Subaru EJ motors are. And the Mazda 13B? Neat concept, but there’s a reason why the rotary engine is DOA.Now, I know that memes are supposed to be fun and games. I get it. However, can they at least make it accurate? Fortunately, some enterprising individual on the Internet had the same idea as us. A corrected version of the meme has been made and shared.Hey, much better!
