Another fresh arrival from Arizona is this cracking 1929 Ford Model A Roadster Pick Up. This is a great start for a VHRA compliant project, restoration, or full on hotrod. The truck is about 99% complete, all the major parts are there, and only requires a few nuts, bolts, and brackets to complete. We bought this Model A from a lovely guy in Phoenix who, like many of us, had a shed full of projects, and was thinning out his collection to concentrate on one car rather than the half dozen he had. He was a fair way along with the A, and although it looks almost done, please assume it wants a proper going through to finish it.
The body and chassis are original 1929 Henry Ford steel. The body itself is in pretty good nick, with all the original metalwork being present and correct, and only a few bits needing attention. There is a little rot in the outside of both lower cowl sides, and both doors. The framework underneath including all subrails and frames is rock solid, and its only single skin flat panels that need work. One door is a replacement (As can be seen in the pics). The pick up bed and tailgate are in amazing condition for the age, as is the hood, and the fenders. The truck currently has GRP rear fenders, but we are including some excellent steel ones for the asking price. There is a seat frame and springs included, but its pretty far gone to be honest, and needs replacement.
Chassis is in good order and appears stock and complete, the truck rolls and steers freely with no nasty noises. There is a partially fitted hydraulic brake conversion that needs finishing, and should be a big improvement on stock A brakes! The complete engine, gearbox, torque tube, and rear axle, was taken from a reportedly running and driving 1930 Coupe that was getting the street rod treatment. We"ve not attempted to start it, but everything turns freely, and all the gears select, so chances are its all good.
All in all this should be an easy winter project for someone, or a good start for a full on hotrod. The truck has all duties paid, is registered on the NOVA scheme, and we are happy to help with registration. For more information, or to arrange a viewing, call me on 07789 378263, Ivor on 07944 294250, or reply on here. The truck, along with others we have for sale, is located in Hockwold, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.
