A chance to own a unique piece of chevy history.
I bought this truck a couple of years ago from a guy who took it in part exchange in 1951, at the dealership he worked at in Cleveland, Ohio. The dealership sold it new and he thinks it never went above 50 miles away from home. He was the second owner and had the dealership repaint the truck in 1980.
The colour is the same "Bluebell blue" in which it left the factory, of which he gave me the remaining litre for touching up. The coach lining is also in the original colour and I have some of that too.
It is a 3.2ltr straight six "Stovebolt" engine which he assures me has never even had the head off, starts first time, sound transmission, etc. I have replaced some of the wiring (which was getting a little worse for wear) with retro cloth covered cable to match the original, even the headlamp glasses are original. I have upgraded some items to twelve volts, mainly the lights.
I imported it and have registered it in the uk and had an MOT test just for a roadworthiness certificate but it runs tax and test free on our roads. Tyres are good, all glass original and chassis built like a tank. It has a few age related marks on paintwork but not bad for 85 years old. It"s quite a head turner at shows and I feel just needs a moonshine still building for the rear. It comes with a workshop manual which I purchased last year while in the states on holiday.
