1935 Ford V8 Roadster Deluxe with Rumble Seat and 2 Speed rear axle
Only 4,896 roadsters were built (estimate just over 100 survive) substantially less with the original 2 speed rear axle. Most were turned into Hot Rods due to their attractive shape.
In the late 30"s early 40"s the engine was upgraded to the Ford V8 59A block. This has 24 stud cylinder head bolts on each bank, the original block only had 21 and were plagued with several issues including overheating, cylinder head warping, casting porosity and cracking near the valve ports.

In near concourse condition with sensible upgrades which make the car more usable and more reliable
Polished Aluminium Cylinder heads to reduce risk of overheating (the original cast iron heads have been retained)
Brakes converted from rod to hydraulic
Dynamo replaced with Alternator
Mallory Electronic ignition
Converted to 12 volts
Electric radiator fan
Electric fuel pump
Side indicators
Seat belts

Starts first time and sounds fantastic, incredible amount of torque from the V8-4 litre engine and with the 2 speed rear axle it will cruise at 60+mph at less than 2,000 rpm
This is an 83 years old car, consequently has no synchromesh, no power steering and no power brakes, it is a drivers car giving you a huge amount of fun and satisfaction and is a real head turner.

The car was bought in Pebble Beach, California in 1999 and shipped to the UK by a serious classic car collector and although it was in excellent condition having won several awards including, National First Prize - Antique Automobile Club of America 1977 and the Dearborn Award Winner - The Early Ford V8 Club of America, he decided to fully recondition the car.

The car was totally stripped the engine was sent to a Ford specialist in Detroit, the above upgrades were done. All body panels were shot blasted and zinc coated prior to a full respray (it will come as no surprise that the original colour was Black)
New leather interior, hood, screens, and tonneau cover.
All receipts and photographs are in a huge file which also includes the original sales brochure, original instruction manual and the California pink slip
A very rare and beautiful car as can be seen from the photographs but even more beautiful in the flesh
