I imported my "41 into the UK in Dec 2015. I discovered it in Toronto and had it inspected prior to purchase. The inspector me sent a comprehensive report consisting of 3 x A4 pages and 60 photos, rating the car 9/10. He wasn"t lying. When it arrived here in the UK it was even better than I was hoping for.

Once delivered, my "41 over-wintered in the garage under a tailored cover (included in sale) till the start of this year"s driving season. Oddometer shows 13,577 miles. Features 4.1 litre Straight 8 with desirable dual carburettors. 3-speed manual column change. Very tidy and presentable under the hood. 5 new Coker wide white tyres.

During it"s over-winter lay-up I carried out the following work. Brakes thoroughly checked and gone through. Everything worked just fine apart from a small leak of fluid from the master cylinder - so a new master cylinder was sourced from the US and fitted. I also installed a new 6v battery, replaced the air intake flexi-hose, fan-belt and a couple of heater hoses, fitted fog lights and a classic Unity spotlight was installed on the driver"s A-pillar.

Exterior-wise, the Buick still wears it"s original Ridge Green and Chenanga Grey paint which shines-up remarkably well for a 75 year old gal. Sure it has the odd chip and blemish - along with one or two spots where the top coat has been buffed through to the primer undercoat - but for me that only proved no-one was trying to hide anything under a quick blow-over. A new owner may want to touch-up the paint here and there. Your call. I"m VERY happy with the original honest patina. Few 75 year old paint jobs look this good. Just as solid and rust free underneath too. All chrome & stainless trim in very nice order.

The Buick"s interior had benefited from an earlier pro-restoration courtesy of Hampton Coach in the US who re-did the upholstery, carpets and mats. A nifty new steering wheel was also fitted. To finish-off the interior nicely, I removed and re-did the faded original faux painted wood-grained panels so they now look good as new. The Buick"s interior is certainly a lovely place to spend time. At shows it attracts lots of admiring comments. All instrumentation - including the original AM Radio - works as it should with the exception of the fuel gauge. I therefore ensure I fill her up regularly and carry a spare can of gas in the trunk just in case.

Speaking of the trunk, the fabric lining looks as spiffy as the day it left the factory and I"ll even throw-in the pair of period luggage cases pictured. When it arrived here, the trunk contained a box of spares which included an original shop manual (great read!), Californian plates (the Canadian dealership I purchased it from confirmed it was an ex-Cali car), loads of 6v bulbs and a full new wiring harness. All to be included in the sale.

The Buick sailed through its MOT in April this year and was then UK registered with no hassle whatsoever. I"ve run it since on US-style plates with no trouble.

Sadly my "41 is now reluctantly offered for sale due to my wife"s deteriorating dementia which has resulted in the vehicle not being used anywhere near as much as planned. It was only exhibited at three of the nine shows I had scheduled for 2016. Try finding another this good.
