This is a reluctant sale of my stunning looking 51 Cadillac Coupe, ive been using this the last few months and it turns heads where ever it goes but i could do with the funds for a new project.<br />

The previous owner, since 2006, told me the car originally belonged to the actor Mickey Rooney, i also know the previous owner to him who also told the same story. I dont have any paperwork to back this up but its a cool story.<br />

The car starts, runs and drives well for its 66 years of age with the usual early Cadillac traits<br />
The body is very tidy, it was last painted in 1991 and it has held up amazingly well, there"s not a bubble or blister come through anywhere, it presents very well with just a couple of very minor marks.<br />
The chrome is mostly original and has some aging in places but i quite like it like that.<br />
The interior is an older re-do and is tidy throughout<br />

The car starts easily thanks to a 12 volt conversion and runs well. I did 120 miles in the car last weekend with no problem.<br />
The car is easy to drive with the power steering, rare on a 51 as it wasnt standard until 52.<br />
Steering and brakes all feel good bearing in mind the car is on crossply tires<br />
Mechanically the brakes have been gone through in recent years, the kingpins have been renewed, i changed the oil and filter last week.<br />
I have bills for an engine rebuild in 1991, the car hasnt done a great deal of miles since<br />
I had the registration number valued, apparently its worth 2000<br />

As with most old cars there"s a few things that could be improved but nothing that would stop you enjoying the car now, the car isnt perfect, if it was it would be 35k.<br />
The price takes into account the minor improvements you could make<br />
The passenger floors show some older repairs that could be tidied if you were bothered, there"s a small area on the inner rocker that if i were keeping it i would do.<br />
The fuel guage reads full most of the time, the rear windows click but i havent persuaded them to go down yet and theres the usual Cadillac minor exhaust manifold chuff<br />
<br />
Overall the car is in very good condition for its age, a car you can jump in and use now and make improvements when the show season is over<br />
