1953 kaiser "hardtop" dragon 4 door sedan.<br />
kaisers and frazers were built at willow run, ford"s ex bomber plant, from 1946 to 1955.<br />
the 1953 dragon was the most expensive sedan ever produced by the kaiser frazer corporation, and sold for $3320.00, only 1,277 examples were built, they featured a padded top, covered in "bambu" vinyl, a similar padded dash and interior trim, with "laguna" cloth inserts. Various brightwork was gold plated, also standard was hydra-matic drive, power steering, tinted screen, white wall tyres, etc.<br />
this jade green dragon was imported in 1981, and i bought it in the mid 1980"s. I restored it in 1988, and it has had further restoration in the vlast few years. Including new bambu vinyl top, carpets, engine bay detailing re-spray.<br />
kaisers were only avaliable with a side valve 6 cylinder m0tor.<br />
it is believed that this is the only 1953 dragon in england.<br />
