As far as I am aware this is the only American Graffiti 55 Chevy replica in the UK, possibly Europe.
The car is a multiple trophy winner including Best American Muscle at the NSRA Fun Run in 2017 and NSRA Top Five at Dragstalgia 2017.
It was featured in Custom Car magazine in April 2018.
The car was subject to a full chassis up build over 2.5 years and has now covered nearly 4000 miles since completion. Detailed build description below
Although MOT exempt she had a full MOT in May 2018
I am selling her to finance my next build - a 66 or 67 Pontiac GTO.
I realise she is a very specialist car and I"m in no rush to sell so please no silly offers.

Before reading further please note the following
This car is not for the faint hearted - it was built in keeping with the spec and spirit of the movie car. Although the brakes have been uprated to discs up front there is no servo assistance so a strong leg is needed, there is no power steering so steering is very heavy at parking speeds (although great once moving) and the clutch is heavy for town work. That"s how I wanted her and that"s how she was built (power steering, brake servo and hydraulic clutch could be fitted if wanted but not while I own her!)
If you want a trailer queen look elsewhere - this is a high end build and a trophy winner but she was built to be driven - in 4000 miles she"s picked up the odd stone chip and mark. If you want perfect stump up the six figure sum to build one that way because this ones built to drive.
I"m not interested in trades unless you have a 66 or 67 GTO so please don"t ask. The car will not be released until I have cleared funds and no one will get a test drive unless I"m holding the cash in my hand as security so tyre kickers and test pilots think again!

If you"re still with me here is the detail

Detailed Information
In 2013 I set out to build a replica/tribute to the 55 Chevy used in the 1973 movie American Graffiti . The movie car was driven by a young Harrison Ford playing the role of Bob Falfa.
Two cars were used in the movie one two door post sedan was fitted with a 427ci big block and a 4 speed Muncie gearbox, the second was fitted with a 454ci big block and auto gearbox
My goal was to make a tribute car that was as close as possible to the original movie cars whilst still having a couple of personal touches. As well as bodywork I wanted to keep the interior and running gear as correct as possible
After nearly 3 years this is the result a blend of both movie cars with some of me thrown in.
Body
The car spent 16 months at the body shop. Although the body was solid I wanted her spot on so any previous repairs were removed and replaced with new panels. These included a brand new boot lid, new front floors and new lower rear quarters on both sides. All trim holes were welded up (she was originally a Bel Air) and custom fabricated transmission tunnel, firewall and radiused rear wheel arches were fitted. The custom made steel hood scoop was welded in to the bonnet and a one off slide and tilt flip front was designed and fitted (the original movie car had a fibreglass tilt front).
Prior to paint the body was blasted (except the roof due to possible distortion) and sprayed with hot zinc to protect it
The chassis and suspension components were blasted and powder coated
Interior
The interior is close to the original as I could get but is full leather rather than vinyl. The carpet is quality loop not tufted and the dash features hand made aluminium trim, there are additional gauges for oil pressure, water temp and volts plus a rev counter. A chrome finish Ididit column is fitted and there is a hidden stereo in the glovebox. The roll cage is a three piece bolt in unit. The movie car had no rear seat and had a white tonneau fitted behind the front seat I fitted a two piece rigid cover as I needed a rear seat to take the kids around with me this can be removed or refitted in 5 minutes
Running Gear
The car is fitted with a 454ci big block Chevy V8 mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox.
The big block is built for torque not high rpm power with peanut port heads, an Edelbrock Performer 2 intake, Holley 750 four barrel carb with vac secondaries and Lunati cam. Tubular exhaust manifolds feed a 2.5" exhaust system. The rear axle calculates out as a 3.08 so 55 mph = 2000 rpm
Anti roll bars are fitted front and rear, brakes are disc front/drum rear
I"ve probably left out loads so if you want to know more call me on 07901 595550 or email me

I hoped to build the best American Graffiti 55 Chevy tribute in the UK - hopefully I came somewhere close.
