1955 Chevrolet 3100 Stepside<br />
Recent California import<br />
Factory V8 auto truck fitted with later 350/TH350<br />
Very solid usable truck which appears to bevirtually rust free with just a couple of tiny bits on one cab corner and the passenger side floorboard.<br />
Starts right up, drives well for a 60 year old truck, the usual squeaks and rattles from the doors and windows but better than most on the road. The motor pulls clean and the box is smooth.<br />

The body is super solid, its been blown over with a grey primer , there"s a few minor dents here and there but it wouldn"t be a difficult truck to give a nice paint job or just leave as is and satin black it. The chrome grille and front and rear chrome bumpers are brand new, rear lights are new and front side lights also. Under the back the original spare wheel carrier is still present.<br />

Mechanically the motor starts right up and runs well, I"m told its an early 70s 350 but i haven"t decoded it. Because it was a factory auto truck the original column shifter has been utilised leaving the floor uncut. The brakes have had a new master cylinder and new wheel cylinders and give a good firm pedal, the parking brake pulls up and hold on an incline. The steering has minimal play for one of these and with the big whitewalls is surprisingly light and easy to drive. The lights and indicators all seem to be working, the speedo and wipers need looking at, I"m sure there are other small jobs to do but for the most part the oily bits are good.<br />

Inside the truck needs tidying but it"s all there, the original bench seat is still present, nice uncut dash with rare original radio still in place, deluxe heater controls are still there and there"s a rare period heater unit under the dash.<br />

This is a very decent truck, with a great old school hot rod stance, most of the hard work already done, mainly needing just cosmetic restoration, enjoy as is for the summer and improve over winter. These trucks are so easy to work on and restore with all the bits being available from suppliers here and in the USA. <br />
If the red steels and whitewalls aren"t to your taste I have some black steels with chrome dog dish caps with older blackwall tyres.<br />
