Recently imported from USA is this extremely rare 1955 Bell Telephone truck.<br />

This is a standard ford 2 door cab on the original chassis, but supplied with a custom back where they would store all the materials specific to their industry.<br />
<br />
The truck is currently a non-runner, but does have the 223 Cubic Inch straight 6 engine, 3 speed manual (column mounted) transmission and rear end.<br />
<br />
It has almost all the original fitting, including the GE spot lamp on the roof.<br />
The windscreen and rear screen is good, but door glass needs replacing. These are flat, so easy to get made.<br />
<br />
The truck should be considered a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration. A rat-truck would be ideal for this, especially as it is MOT and tax exempt.<br />
<br />
The front left fender and right hand door are dented, but believe they can be repaired easily with an english wheel.<br />
<br />
Although the body has corrosion, there are several new sheet metal parts with the truck:<br />
- 2 Cab floor sections<br />
- 2 Rear Cab corners<br />
- 2 Door inner lower sections.<br />
<br />
There will be additional repairs required, but these are the hardest parts to form.<br />
The utility section of the truck needs flat sheet metal throughout.<br />
<br />
The paint job is not original.<br />
<br />
This is a very rare truck in the UK and values are rocketing in USA, so this is a potential good investment if you have the fabrication skills and time required to put it right.<br />
<br />
All import fees, taxes and duties have been paid. <br />
The NOVA certificate has been issued, ready to register.<br />
<br />
