It is time to sell our much cherished classic. The car is a lovely example of an early muscle car from the Buick stable. It is the Gran Sport variant of the Skylark, having a 401 cubic inch (6.57litre) engine and exhaust note to suit! It is a pillarless 2 door coupe.<br />

It was fully restored some years ago and was the subject of a magazine article in Classic American as you can see from the images. There is lots of history with this car. A full list of owners since it was imported to this country in 1965 by the wife of an american General Motors Executive. There are many notes, letters and faxes of correspondence between the car"s then owner with varying American suppliers during its restoration.<br />

Records tell us that this is the only Skylark Gran Sport in the UK. It has been to many shows around the country garnering admiration and photos from show visitors.<br />

The engine has a lovely tone and the car is quick, but it also works well as a family car for days out giving a nice shared experience. It has 325 BHP and 445 lb ft torque, with a stated 0-60 of 8 seconds. During the restoration, the engine was also attended to. A performance cam was fitted, the heads skimmed and a performance exhaust fitted. Since then it has had stiffer springs, anti-roll bars and air shocks to give it good roadholding with strong brakes.<br />

It drives well and is not required to have road tax. Note, that the photo of the interior shows a wooden steering wheel and rev counter, now removed. The original steering wheel has been re-fitted.<br />

The car is lovely to look at, drives well and is in good condition. There are paint defects that do not affect use, but some have been highlighted in the photos. If you are interested in the car, I suggest you come and take a look to decide if you would like to purchase it.<br />
