My outstanding 1965 Ford Falcon Sprint 289ci V8 Automatic with the very rare "Tri-power" carburettor set-up is for sale. I imported this genuine Los Angeles-built "63D" code Sprint 2-door Hardtop from long-term enthusiast ownership in San Francisco, California and still have the "black plates" it wore. Always cherished it looks beautiful in the rare factory Caspian Blue metallic paint with matching 2-tone blue interior and is in exceptional condition with superb chrome and stainless trim and a completely clean, original & rust-free underside.
Although stock appearing apart from the Superlite wheels (I have the original steels with Deluxe Falcon caps), the car has been uprated with a professionally built 289 V8 motor running the expensive "Tri-power" Autolite Pony carburettor set-up, dual-plane intake manifold, Falcon Hi-Po headers, fully balanced rotating assembly, 302 heads, Crower camshaft and many other good things including a rebuilt C4 automatic transmission with shift kit. I would guess it makes a conservative 275-300hp as it gets down the road very well, accompanied by a deep rich sound from the dual exhaust and Hooker Aerochamber mufflers. On stock rims it is quite the sleeper...
A period front "Granada" disc brake conversion with a dual master cylinder is fitted and usefully it has factory power steering. It is also on recent KYB shocks and has been subtly lowered all round, although there are many further suspension upgrades you could do including a Shelby Drop kit. If I were keeping it I would likely add a brake servo as it currently goes much better than it stops!
I know Falcons well having imported a handful of the nicest ones in the UK, and couldn"t resist owning such a great example. In case you don"t know, the first Mustang was built on the same chassis and drivetrain as these and the 2-door hardtop "Sprint" in particular is far rarer than just about any Mustang, fastbacks included. They are sought after particularly by historic racers as they do make excellent race cars.
There are only a handful of genuine Falcon Sprints in the UK and such correct cars are very hard to find anywhere. A very useable classic, it will fit in most UK garages and can be used for everything from local shows to daily driving, rallies and tours. It is currently being registered here so will be sold with an MOT and UK number plate. It also comes with an inches thick stack of paperwork showing caring ownership in the USA, along with various manuals.
As I have a long-standing classic car habit I can help arrange delivery through some trusted road transport contacts to the UK/EU (or even Worldwide if required), and the Falcon is available to view in Amersham, Bucks. Please call for a good old-fashioned chat, although I can email for information and photos if you are some distance away.
