A unique oppurtunity to aquire a 1965 K code Fastback GT.
K code Mustang"s are rare in the States, to find one on this side of the pond is very unusual.
The K code is the absolute top of the tree in 1965 Ford Mustang production, only the GT350 produced by Shelby tops it. This car is also a genuine factory GT. Quite a combination.
This is a collectors car, a car in which to invest and reap the rewards of a fast appreciating asset. I personally imported the car in 2010. It has a fresh UK MOT.
The car was built at Dearborn on 13th April 1965.
The car retains all of its original date coded sheetmetal apart from a small section of passenger footwell, the replacement section is almost impossible to detect but I have declared it anyway.
The engine is an all correct date coded 289 271hp K code fully rebuilt with photo evidence approx 2000 miles ago. All the rest of the driveline from the 4 sp close ratio toploader to the unique 9" rear axle is date code correct.
The car was undercoated at the supplying dealership and I have left this in place. The original muddy red/brown primer is on the floors underneath the coating.
The special handling package date coded springs are still on the car. The steering box is the original quick ratio box fully rebuilt, the car drives like new.
The original bumpers have been re chromed.
The original standard interior is in fabulous condition. There is an original 8K low profile rally pac.
All the original apron VIN stampings are present along with the door tag.
The original radio is fitted and working. Spare wheel has an unused Goodyear power cushion dual redline bias ply tyre, I have 4 other dual redlines with legal tread to go with the car. Original jack and handle in trunk.
This car is not stuffed full of repro parts, it is mostly original and has aquired a patina that is wonderful.
Car has never been driven on a wet road, viewing on dry days only. Local accomadation available for long distance travellers.
I have traced some of the US owners back to the year 2000, but privacy laws prevent further investigation. I have extensive photo files of my time with the car and am happy to answer any questions.
This car does not have to leave me, so I will not be accepting any low ball offers but am happy to discuss terms with a true enthusiast.
