Lovely 1968 Mustang, 6 cylinder, 3.3 ltr, 3 speed auto, power steering, front disc brakes, in excellent condition.
The car spent it"s life in San Jose, California, before being imported into the UK in 2016. Since then, it"s been kept in my dry, warm, garage and only taken out in good weather. The car is bone dry and rust free.I had it resprayed in Race Red, as the paint was flat and sun-bleached. This wasn"t a full bare metal job, as the car was so straight to begin with, but all of the trim, doors, hood etc were removed, and the door shuts, etc were painted. The interior and chrome are very good. The engine bay is clean and tidy. It has four as new Kelly tyres. For safety, I"ve fitted new LED rear lights (behind the original lenses), with amber turn signals, inertia reel seat belts, and a new Grant steering wheel. All of the original parts have been kept. The recorder mileage is 17,500 miles, at the time of posting this ad. History is scant, but I"d guess it"s 117,500 miles. I do know that it was owned by an older gentleman for many years, who went through it and got it ready to give to his grandson, to go to college in. He rejected it in favour of something more modern, and Japanese (!). It drives very straight and true. It runs a little a lumpy when started from cold, but is sweet once warmed up. These had an early automatic choke, which was never much good. It could do with a bit of tweeking/tuning of the carb. Just something I"ve never gotten around to. It is reliable, though, and has never let me down. The six cylinder engine isn"t slow. These original Mustangs only weighed in at around 1200kg, and it"s reasonable on fuel. A lovely, lovely car, that gets massive attention wherever it goes. I"m open to sensible offers, but am not desperate to sell, just looking at other stuff. The car is in Cornwall. Feel free to contact me for more info.
