This is a real X11 1969 Camaro powered by a correct date coded L65 turning a Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission and original 12 bolt rear end. Although the block is 1969 date coded and period correct, it has been machine decked so the block VIN cannot be confirmed.
The overall car has been sympathetically enhanced while maintaining much of the as built originality. All upgrades are focused on the drivability of the car with a look to limit their intrusion on the look and feel of this beautiful muscle car. The engine has been upgraded with aluminium cylinder heads, intake manifold, and ceramic coated tubular headers for performance.
The most noticeable features are:
1) Power assisted and fully functional 4-wheel disc brakes (so much more effective than the original drum rear brakes).
2) A major upgrade is the Holley Terminator EFI tucked quietly under the cowl induction intake cleaner assembly delivering amazing functionality and reliability, this is a No Fuss induction system that self-learns and delivers hassle free operation; yet still looking original.
3) An overdrive unit mated nicely to the M21 transmission capable of handling over 1200 hp a very efficient and robust unit! This Gear Vendors Overdrive unit can split every gear if desired but most notably allows motorway speeds at reasonable engine RPMs 70 miles per hour comes at a comfortable 2200 revs (down from ~3200 before activation) perfect for long drives to events.
Other key features include, new camshaft, new timing chain & gears, new lifters, efficient roller tipped roller rocker arms, 3-point seatbelt conversion for 4 of the 5 seats, 5000 lumen each LED headlights, new high torque starter and brake master cylinder all complimenting the driving experience while seamlessly complimenting the muscle car drivability of this amazing car.
The notable and recent upgrades total a market replacement value more than 7,000 just for the parts no VAT, shipping, import duty, or installation costs included in that figure my loss is your gain.
All this over and above the reasonable and comparable value of the underlying vehicle please have a look around this will be the best of those on offer!
The M21 manual transmission is freshly rebuilt (Dec 2017) and the original 12 bolt rear end now lives with a friendly 3.55 rear end gear as opposed to the original 4.11 (as verified and stamped on the housing). The exterior colour, vinyl top, and interior are all as built refer to the bulkhead tag. The car features a tachometer, console, console gauges, period correct wood steering wheel, lovely Z-28 style chambered exhaust, and American Racing wheels plus BF Goodrich T/A radial red pinstripe tyres.
Some (not all) notable options include: Style Trim Group (includes roof drip mouldings, simulated rear fender louvers, front and rear wheel opening mouldings, black body sill, rear panel emblem, bright headlight and taillight accents); D80 spoiler; cowl induction bonnet; and two beautifully subtle Z-28 style black stripes running the length of the car.
None of the above conveys just how much fun this car is to own and enjoy of course it has its aches and pains it is almost 50 years old; however, the noise, smells, and visceral engagement of this car is pure enjoyment a true nostalgic driving and muscle car owning experience!
No trades or tyre kickers please... I am open to reasonable and serious offers.
Thank you for looking!
