Imported from California in 2003 by former owner and UK registered. Odometer reads 112110 miles as of the 19th April 2018. Located in Southern Hampshire.<br />
Mechanics;<br />
Original 8.2 Litre V8 engine with and 3-speed Hydramatic automatic transmission, all serviced at regular intervals. Original four-barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburettor, rebuilt by Dantona Parts Florida in 2008. Original radiator re-cored in 2005. New stainless steel exhaust system & manifolds installed in 2015. New rear manual pump air suspension bags installed 2015.<br />
Controls;<br />
Interior electric controls (i.e. seats, windows, lights etc.) all functioning perfectly, except for passenger side window when controlling from the driver s side panel only. The car has provision for A/C, but the compressor was removed years ago before I acquired the car, so currently non-functioning. Trunk lid vacuum self-close non-functioning.<br />
Finishes;<br />
Olive green exterior paint colour, a re-spray from an older restoration years ago before I acquired the car (the original Byzantine Gold Metallic paint scheme is visible within the door & trunk reveals). Black vinyl roof completely reupholstered in 2005. Original chrome work and body trim. Original interior tan carpeting, leather & vinyl bench seats front and back, and door/dash trim work. New front tyres installed in 2015.<br />
Overall the car is a decent cruiser, a perfectly usable and functional everyday driver, in good original condition with a clean bill of health. It accelerates rapidly, handles confidently, and is very comfortable to ride in for long periods. Both the exterior and interior of the car are very presentable, and display that level of wear, tear and patina expected of a used car approaching 50 years old.<br />
The 67- 70 Eldorado s are a special era for the famous top-of-the-line brand due to their sharp sporty styling, front wheel drive layout and powerful engines. The 1970 Eldorado in particular was a very notable model year with its brand new 500CID / 400 bhp engine, still the largest production V8 engine ever used in a passenger car to this day. They are also quite uncommon on the UK roads, and since I have owned the car for the last 15 years I have personally not seen another 70 model around. Unfortunately practicality of storage<br />
and little spare time to get work done on it forces sale.<br />
Last MOT in July 2017, and only had one advisory item (tiny drip from the brake master cylinder) but this has been checked since and shows no signs of leaking. The car has its original set of keys, spare tyre & jack, and California-state license plate. Original owner s manual and engineer s workshop manual included, along with some various spare parts.<br />
