Super nice and original 1971 Stingray Convertible (Manual 4 speed) finished in very attractive Brands Hatch Green / black interior and a white soft top. This is an original car with a genuine low mileage of just 44k and previously from single family ownership in the US.
The car is in beautiful what you might call "survivor condition" what I mean by this is that it is not a fully restored car but has had maintenance work done and been cherished and looked after all of it life. It has been re-spayed some years ago in the original colour but it still maintains a classic period look and the interior and roof are both original to the car. There is some minor paint blisters on the bonnet plus a few scratches but nothing that takes away from the overall looks, note also an age related split in the rear window of the soft top where the window has become brittle over time. Don"t let this put you off however as replacements are available quite reasonably if desired but my view is that it is that it is better to keep all original as it has a nice period look to it..The interior is immaculate and shows very little wear and all instruments work correctly baring the clock. The car sits on the original 15 inch rally wheels with chrome trim together with rare Goodyear Eagle GT2 tires of the correct 225/70 size all in great condition and showing minimal wear.
The engine runs very smooth and is super clean. This is the base 270hp engine but is pushing out slightly more power than standard owing to the stainless "hooker headers" and chrome side exhaust that has been fitted. This is the only change from standard on this car and I have the original (rear exit) system (inc. all chrome trim fittings) with the car if you wanted to reverse this modification. I must say however thought that the sound from the side pipes is just intoxicating and of course it looks the absolute business too!
1971 is one of the last years of the desirable full chrome bumper cars and this is a particularly nice example. These are in my view one of the best classics around right now, the show stopping looks are right up there with the finest Italian exotica of the same era. This being the full convertible over the t-top gives the car and even lower and more aggressive profile, hood up or down the lines are just beautiful from every angle.
