Up for sale is my 1972 corvette, last of the chrome bumper front and rear vettes. I brought this in over a year ago and started to restore it. The car came in with a 396 BB with an auto trans which has now been taken out and sold. It has now got a 350 with a 4 speed Manual Muncie which it had originally. Comes with US Title and Duties paid so it is ready for registering once it has a MOT, come May you won t even need that.

Bodywork

Don t be fooled that this is in primer, the body was NOT all sanded back so the fibreglass is thin in places which is what I ve seen in the past. This was stripped back with a blade which is the best way to take the paint off and then sanded. The body/fibreglass is still solid and the lines are good. Panel wiped and has had a couple of coats of 2k primer. I would say there is about 2 days to tidy the odd bit to get ready for topcoat.

Chassis and birdcage

All looks and feels to be rock solid, surface rust only.

Interior

All in all in good condition including seats and dash, certainly driver quality. I know the T/Top panels and A/post panels have been repaired so if you want to be picky they will need replacing. The rear moulding under the rear window is missing. The door panels are there but will definitely need replacing. The rear seat belts are there but no lap belts. All other panels are there and in good condition.

Front and rear bumpers are not bad at all, certainly driver quality.

Glass is all good

Brakes work (just).

Engine/mechanical

I have pictures of the engine that went in it with the heads off, looks like it had new valve set and it had no scoring on the bores. Exhaust is complete but ideally needs tiding at the front end as changed from BB. I have not gone through any other bits so don t know what bushes/ball joints etc need replacing.

Wiring and clocks/gauges

All looks to be there and complete but I ve not gone through any.

New parts fitted

Complete clutch,

Flywheel,

Electronic dizzy,

Leads,

Elderbrock inlet (old stock),

Hi toque starter.

What I know that needs replacing/missing is: door panels, rear window moulding, lap belts, gearbox lower cover plate, U jay or yoke (because changed from auto to manual), carburettor (unless you want to give me extra 350 for my new 600 CFM elderbrock ).

So all in all a solid vette with most of the hard work done but it will need to be gone through and checked (it is still a restoration project).

I will leave carb on the car to load onto trailer and so you can see the vette running.

Ask me any sensible questions and I will answer if I can, welcome to view and is recommend.

Vette is located in Hawkhurst , Kent, I may be able to deliver at an extra cost but the car will have to be paid for first.
