This was a one family car from new (grandfather to father to son), until I imported it from Arizona last summer. It went straight through an MOT and is now fully UK registered.

This is a superb, very original example of a Mark IV that has clearly been very well looked after. The body is perfectly straight and is still covered in the factory paint - "Brite Lime Gold Moondust Metallic". There is no rust at all, but the paint is a little thin in one or two small areas, though still very presentable and a really beautiful colour. I would always choose to keep the original paint when still in nice condition like this.

The interior is beautiful and clean, with no rips and very little wear and the car has all the usual Lincoln luxury features of that era - electric seats, electric windows, electric aerial, electric trunk release, power steering, cruise control and climate control. Like most, the latter isn"t fully functional as these early climate control systems are full of vacuum operated components that are simply prone to failure with age. Parts are readily available, but I"ve not had the time to explore this any further.
The Lincoln starts easily and drives beautifully, with the transmission shifting as it should, the steering nice and light and the brakes very strong. The only issue I had with this car was that the fuel filter kept clogging as the fuel tank was dirty. The tank was removed and, after a thorough cleaning, was found to be in very good condition. So, rather than replacing, it was treated and sealed with some very good POR15 products and is now protected for many years to come.

I have also replaced various ignition components, just for good measure and to maximise reliability- such as plugs, leads, points, cap and rotor. I also fitted a new coil. The car has 4 new white wall tyres as the seller in Arizona told me that the tyres on it had good tread but were old, so I paid him to have new (Hankook) ones fitted before it was shipped

The car arrived with a trunk full of parts (literally) that are mostly harder to find and expensive body pieces and these are included in the sale.
Both this and the 72 Continental that I am also advertising are lovely cars that I couldn"t resist buying, but I"ve decided that I need to scale back as I simply don"t have the space and have been unable to locate storage for them anywhere near where I live. I"d like to keep both but must be sensible!!

I"m more than happy to answer any questions you might have and also have more photos.
