3rd gen F-Body cars might not get much love these days. But when was the last time you saw a low-mile, manual ’82 Camaro Pace Car?When it comes to pace cars, Corvettes and early Camaros typically get all the press. And the big time resale prices. But what about the long-forgotten ’82 Camaro Pace Car? Chevrolet’s 3rd gen Camaro was a big time deal when it dropped on the world back then, after all. Today, it’s just another under powered relic from the ’80s. But that doesn’t make this well-preserved example, which we spotted on Craigslist, any less special.Heck, you rarely see any of these things anymore, for starters. Probably because only around 6,000 were built. Oh, and most people beat the heck out of these F-Body rides, too. All of that should make this beautifully kept, 70k mile example worth decent money. But in reality, that designation only nets it a mere $7,200 asking price. Talk about underappreciated!But that certainly isn’t the case with us. We’re digging this Camaro Pace Car big time. Maybe it’s the attractive silver and blue paint scheme with those fantastic ’80s stripes. Or maybe it’s the classic five-spoke wheels and matching two-tone interior. But perhaps the best thing about this ’82 is the fact that it has a 4-speed manual transmission! You just don’t see many row-your-own 3rd gens these days.Sure, this isn’t a “no-mile” find stored in a hermetically sealed chamber all of its life like many other pace cars out there. But this 3rd gen Camaro Pace Car is certainly clean, a product of living its life in sunny, dry California. By today’s standards, it doesn’t have anything resembling “power” or “interior build quality.” But it is most definitely unique and well-preserved.
