For sale is my Plymouth Gran Fury in white with a black vinyl roof. Full MOT until September 2018, so can be driven home and used straight away. I"m only selling it because I"ve bought another project and don"t have the time to properly use it.
The car has the classic Chrysler 225 cubic inch (3.7 litre) slant six motor with the sought-after "Super Six" package which gave the engine a few more horse power (Google "Chrysler Super Six" for details). The engine shows good oil pressure and the emissions at the recent MOT test were very good for an engine of this age. I have had the car for three years and used it regularly, and it has always started easily and run well. These cars were very popular police vehicles in the eighties, which is testament to their reliability. I once heard a quote which said that after a nuclear war the only things still moving would be cockroaches and the Chrysler Slant Six !
For its age the car is in remarkably good condition and is very solid with no rot that I am aware of. Obviously it is thirty years old and there are minor cosmetics which a purist would seek to rectify. The window rubbers are perished, for example, and the Chrysler badge that covers the trunk keyhole has come adrift (but I still have it). Spots of surface rust are showing through the paintwork in places and the chrome bumpers have a small amount of minor pitting. The blue velour interior is in good condition and the headlining is intact and doesn"t sag. The wheels have good Cooper whitewall tyres and have been enhanced by a non-standard chrome wheel trim which suits the car very well. All in all it polishes up very nicely and a few simple jobs would reward the owner with a very nice looking car
It"s a very simple machine and, as cars go, it"s a pleasure to work on. It doesn"t have aircon, so there are no annoying pipes blocking access to the engine, and there is no on-board computer, so the electrical system is about as basic and reliable as you can get. Even the windows have manual hand-winders! Since I"ve owned it it"s had new ball joints, a new set of tyres, a new alternator and a new voltage regulator. It"s also had a new transmission mount and new universal joints on the propshaft. As I said it has 12 months MOT and is ready to drive away.

The odometer has been past the 100,000 mark and is showing about 7000 miles. Unfortunately the car came with very little history and so I can"t say for sure if this is the first time it has been round. However, the previous owner had the car for over twenty years and I have old MOTs that show it has only covered about 35,000 miles since 1996, so the mileage of 107000 miles could very well be genuine.

The car is in Cannock, north of Birmingham. Please email me if you have any questions. If you are interested then please come and have a look at it. Drop me a line and we can sort out a suitable time. No "what"s the lowest you"ll take for it, mate" emails, as I won"t reply. I am open to genuine offers, but if you"re serious about it then you need to come and see it.
