I bought this car five years ago to do a road-trip across america. It was up for sale for $4000 at the time, and I figured I could make some of that back after driving her across the country from South Dakota to LA. Unfortunately for my bank-balance, I decided instead to ship it home to the UK. It s been a fun vehicle to have around, and last year my wife and I took it around France on our honeymoon.

We now have a baby arriving in May, and it s time to find a new home for this car.

The car is a 1984 5.0 litre V8 Ford LTD Crown Victoria, with 68,940 genuine miles on the clock from new. It has working air-conditioning, and has been well looked after, despite the odd bump and scrap which you would expect on a thirty-two year old family car. The interior is in very good condition, with only minimal fading and no tears to the material (though there is a tiny hole in the drivers seat). The roof lining has started to come loose which can be seen in the pictures.

The car features:

Electric windows all round
Air conditioning
Radio
Six seats (three per bench), all with seat-belts but lap-straps in the back
Digital clock (an optional extra apparently)
White wall tyres
Spare
Original jack and tyre iron
UK compliant fog-light
Electric boot release from the glove-box
Service history is typical of most american cars - there isn t any. I ve kept what little I ve accumulated since I bought her including the import documentation.

The Good

4 new whitewall tyres fitted in 2015 with less than a thousand miles on them
The air con works fully and was re-gassed in 2015
The brake callipers were refurbished and uprated brake pads fitted all round in 2015
Two sets of keys
It"s the same engine they put in the Mustang and
It"s the model before they de-tuned the engine (for emission reasons), so it has more go than the later ones.
The Bad

It weighs a couple of tons, so don"t expect it to be as fast as a Mustang. It"s not.
The ceiling lining is coming loose (see photo)
I lost a hubcap in France - these are cheap enough to replace on eBay USA
The central locking has stopped working
It"s too wide to drive over Hammersmith bridge.
The Ugly
It"s brown - but in my opinion that"s all part of the charm....
MOT to July 2016. Price reflects condition.
