An officer of the Hermantown Police Department clocked a driver in a 2016 Camaro 1SS at speeds of up to 171 MPH on public roads. Deputy Chief Shawn Padden described the black car as “a blur” when it flew past him, adding “It was like a rocket on wheels at that point.” From the factory, the Camaro SS is governed at just 155 MPH, but a five-minute software reflash can take care of that.

The Camaro SS driver was clocked at 143 MPH, 168 MPH, and 171 MPH before Padden was able to pull him over, the officer reaching speeds of 135 MPH during the pursuit.
