We’ve known since the early stages of the 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1, that it was going to be an absolute track monster. Chevy went to great lengths to develop the car at the Nurburgring, and pulled out all the stops on reliability testing, track testing, etc.On the other hand, the 2017 Ford GT is by all accounts, a remarkable supercar. So remarkable, in fact, that they deemed it worthy of a $450,000 MSRP. Thanks to Luke McGrew, now we know just how incredible the Camaro ZL1 is, as McGrew just about devoured the Ford during a recent track day at the Mid-Ohio racetrack. If you want to compare apples to apples, the ZL1 produces 650 horsepower from its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine. The Ford GT squeezes 647 horsepower from its twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 high-output motor. As you can see, the ZL1 edges the GT in power, but the GT makes up for it with a leaner body nearly 600 pounds less to be precise. This makes for a very fun six minutes on the track, where the Camaro teases the GT in the straightaways, and the GT dances a precise ballet in the corners. If this isn’t huge proof that the Camaro is a heck of a car at a heck of a price, we’re not sure what is!Tags: camaro, Chevy, Ford, Ford GT, mid ohio, ZL1

Awesome to watch, but for me the Camaro has the right number of cylinders, makes a better (fantastic) noise and costs less than 25% of the Ford.
Ford, put a real engine in that thing and just maybe it would be worth the money.
