he 1980s was a very strange era, from music to ideology to advertising, and this 1984 Chevrolet Camaro advertisement just might be the strangest of all. This commercial has all of the predictable 1980s cues, including cheesy “special effects” with lots of drab colors, but the most unique aspect of this commercial is the aliens or gods or both. I’m not really sure what they are, but they could certainly be aliens.
In any event, this commercial shows that the 1984 Camaro was so high tech and so impressive, that it has to have been touched with some sort of alien intelligence. At least, I think that is what it is trying to portray, but it isn’t clear so it probably didn’t do a world of good in selling the Camaro.
