This lovely all original old truck has just arrived from the US today 12th January.<br />
This is just about as cool as it gets, remember they are only original once!<br />
<br />
1955 Chevy 3100 pickup truck. This is the first year of the 2nd series truck with cheese grater grill.<br />
<br />
Desirable half ton short bed.<br />
<br />
In its original brown factory paint with great patina. This truck has never been repainted! It hasn"t been made to look old and weathered, it IS old and weathered! Clear coat the original paint and use as is, it took 60 years to achieve this look!<br />
<br />
Still utilizing foot starter<br />
<br />
Fitted with bull bar/grill guard, which has protected the front end of the truck from damage!<br />
<br />
Has original key <br />
<br />
Hard to find spare wheel carrier and spare wheel.<br />
<br />
Original 235 cubic inch 3900cc OHV straight six petrol engine with 3 speed floor change transmission. Just had a fluids change before leaving the US.<br />
<br />
The truck has been registered recently in the US and has been regularly used.<br />
<br />
It starts, runs drives and stops very very well indeed. The engine fires straight up, sounds great, does not show any signs of excess wear , rattles or smoke!<br />
<br />
All the cab gauges work and all lights work. <br />
<br />
12 volt electrics as standard<br />

Complete with Owners manual and Workshop manual.<br />
<br />
Body wise it is generally solid. There is the usual rot to the rear of the front fenders where they all go, one cab corner has holes in it. The cab floor is very solid.The chassis is perfect and has no damage, rot or welding .<br />
<br />
The sheet metal is very very straight.<br />
<br />
The interior is all original and very very tidy as you can see from the photos.<br />
<br />
All cab glass is in excellent undamaged condition.<br />
<br />
Tyres are in almost new condition and are modern radials.<br />
<br />
This is more or less a jump in and drive truck needing very little. I can either sell road registered with a V5 or you can do this yourself with my help, that way you will be first UK owner! I will have the US paperwork including Original Title and NOVA showing duties paid. It is a very very simple straight forward task to register for UK roads!<br />

Of course the truck is MOT and Road Tax exempt. That said though,of course it does need to be road legal!<br />
<br />
The truck is a great piece of US history either use as is or restore it to its former glory!<br />
<br />
All parts are available for these trucks both here in the UK and in the US. In fact you could rebuild the entire truck with replacement parts should you so wish!<br />
<br />
No silly offers, no trades, finding these trucks in their original state is becoming increasingly difficult.Sourcing them and shipping them to the UK is an expensive task.<br />
<br />
Many have been scrapped and many have been hot rodded with later engines etc.<br />
<br />
Remember , this is a 60 year old truck. As such it will drive like one. It will not drive like your 2010 BMW. <br />
<br />
