About ten miles west of Cardiff lies Aston Martin"s brand new carmaking plant. It"s Hangar 1, MOD St Athan, Vale of Glamorgan.Soon, there will be many people, many machines, components, and a production line that will build Aston Martin road cars, one of which is the new DBX SUV. All very noble and good for the iconic British carmaker. But that doesn"t kick off until 2020. Before it started developing the old RAF hangar, Aston coralled together 65 million worth of its back- and current-catalogue. We"re talking achingly cool icons like the DB5, Vanquish, Vantage, a few racecars and even the new Vulcan.Top Gear of course, needed to see if the facility was up to scratch. Y"know, to make sure everything feels safe. Or something. And the only way to do that is to jump in as many classic Astons as possible and do big, impossible, balletic skids all over the shiny shop floor.Hit play above and see what happened when TG"s Ollie Marriage was let loose in a toybox of Aston goodness, and don"t forget to pick up a copy of the current issue of Top Gear magazine for the full feature.Share this page: FacebookTwitterGoogle+WhatsAppMailtoCopy link
