Nico Rosberg reclaimed the lead in the battle for the world championship in Singapore after securing his eighth win of the season and third in as many races. He now holds an eight-point advantage over Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton with six grands prix remaining, crossing the line less than half a second ahead of Red Bull"s Daniel Ricciardo; a runner-up for the fourth time in 2016.Rosberg led from start to finish, although he was compromised at the end of an early safety car period when a marshal failed to clear the circuit as racing resumed on the main straight. The German later described the near-miss as "pretty hairy", and the FIA has launched an investigation to find out what went wrong.Further down the field there were a couple of great recovery drives as Ferrari"s Sebastian Vettel fought back to fifth after starting last on the grid, while Force India"s Sergio Perez finished eighth having made up nine places over the course of the race.Fernando Alonso underlined McLaren"s gradual improvement by crossing the line in seventh, and there was a rare result for Renault as Kevin Magnussen finished among the points for only the second time this campaign. It might not have been a classic grand prix, but a combination of the night-time backdrop and enthusiasm from the local fans always makes the Singapore GP an event to remember.Click on to view some of the best pictures from the race
