Got up this morning to rain so wasn't sure what sort of day it was going to be but decided to go anyway (didn't buy the car to sit in the garage anyway).
Photos to follow but here's a teaser for how it ended ........
I'm struggling to rate this show.
It's a very friendly show, with everyone happy to chat. But only 70 or so cars. Compared with for example, North Weald where there was hundreds of cars but everyone stays in their own little group.
The big downside of wickstead is that the catering is poor, as in non-existent on the show field and when you don't take lunch and didn't eat breakfast its an issue. There were also no trade stands.
Despite winning a trophy I'm only able to give this show 4/10. The AAC do much better normally.
Would I return? Maybe depends what else is on, but if they clash next year I'll do Brooklands.
Shame you feel like that with day out with new car and winning a trophy, is it there 1st show? can show grow improve for next year 70 not to big shame about food stalls and trade stands mybe priced them selves out of the pitches???
No, the AAC do many great shows, but I suspect lots of the issues are actually wickstead park restrictions.
I'll definately do other AAC shows, but maybe not wickstead park....
Thank you.
The brakes were a complete pain. The Brembo's have an anti-squeal shim that sits between the pad and the pistons. But these only fit if you buy Brembo pads. Anything aftermarket, I fitted EBC pads, doesn't appear to have space to fit them.
Once I figured this out they went together nicely, but trying to fit the new pads with the shims just was not going to work. And of course EBC don't mention it in there instructions.
The pads still haven't bedded in properly, or perhaps they have and this is the new feeling of them?!! The dust?? Just wow, I'm glad I had water and cloths with me to clean the wheels after the journey!
what color pads you running on the brakes? i use red get some dust but also haveing drilled and grooved as well dosnt help as this will course some dust do you have drilled/grooved/vented disc's?
