This year’s Abbotts Ann Festival of Motoring on September 5th 2015 is upon us again and reflects the enthusiasm and the eclectic mix of vehicles that people in the area have and are interested in.

If you haven’t been before, the Abbotts Ann Car Festival of Motoring is set in deepest Hampshire in a beautiful picturesque village surrounded by country side with interesting walks. As part of the show, and adjacent is the famous annual Abbotts Ann Fete with a range of activities including Coconut shire, Bric a Brac, Freshly cooked Food, WI tea, a bar with a selection of real ales, a Dog show, demonstrations, and various other traditional activities, so there is plenty to do, and it’s not just all cars Bikes and contraptions.

The show starts at around 12.00 /12.30, and importantly to show your car it is absolutely free, so if you would like to attend I would be very grateful if you could let me know. If you need directions I can mail these to you by return, so don’t get caught queuing and over-heating your classic trying to get to some posh do, come and experience the real deal here in Abbotts Ann.

By the way, they have plenty of space, so perhaps you could pass this mail on to your friends who may be local, but do keep me posted, as we wouldn’t want to turn people away.

Looks like we are not going to make the European finals up at Santapod, so we will be around, and most probably going to Abbotts Ann on Saturday.

Who else would like to go?

Meeting up at Micks Burger van with the aim to leave at 10.30am. Abbotts Ann is about 50mins drive away, at a nice steady pace on the M27/M3/A34 we should be able to stick together.
Has a great turn out from the Renegades in 2013, but can we beat that, we had 8, http://www.solent-renegades.co.uk/members/transamdan-albums-abbotts-ann-fete-2013.html

Its a nice fete, there is a competition for the most perfect or largest vegetables which is always amazing to see. Also toss a welly competition which is quite funny to see wellies flying through the air.

Why? Whats happened? You two always enjoy 'pod.

I had this on my radar but think its unlikely - got too much to do.

We didn't have much choice about the Pod, we both really wanted to go, unfortunately there are issues with keeping mother fed, they(careers and auntie) say I seem to have the knack, so around 6pm each day I've been giving her a meal. Also it's good to see her happy and giggling.
So at the moment I've been going to shows and just made sure I'm back by 5ish.

We will be up the hill at just after 10am with the aim to leave at 10.30am, some people have shown interest in this event, should be a good convoy. If anyone else wants to tag along then please do. Or even if you don't want to drive all that way leave your daily car up the hill and hop in another vehicle, we have two spaces. :p

I'll be up the hill around tenish.

Pretty darn could turn out, there are 5 of us. It's about an hours drive from home area.

Nice chilled out day, plenty of burgers, cake and ice cream oh, and a few cars! slow run up but a great run home, empty roads and I overshot the A34 junction and found my way home via equally empty roads - happy times.

Thanks for posting
