American dayvans good/bad ?

OK let's talk american day vans.

Been a few in S.R over the years some have gone some have stayed mixed types Ford ecoline chevy day van even the astro type vans and custom vans.

so what are there good bad points of owning a day van's?
it seams chevy day van's are more popular?
custom vans seam to have died out custom in general mybe?
i drove a van (works long wheelbase) for many years are the american day vans any differant?
are they practical?

No not thinking of gettting one just a thought came to me.

always liked the look of them inside and out,never had one or even ridden in one.as for are they practical. i not shore that apply's to much we chose to drive
have considered getting one in the past , but would have to extend the garage-------upwards

I've had two day vans. Only one of them we slept in overnight at a campsite. Was a bit awkward as there wasn't much length for Dave being 6ft
However we did drive one all the way to Scotland and it never missed a beat.
I loved the interior with all the lights.
Would I have another one - yes maybe

The point being is that they are tremendously bad on fuel, very heavy and as a consequence handle and stop astonishingly badly. They are useless camper vans and offer limited functionality as a day van.
But they are superb people carriers in fantastic luxury and great fun because of it.
Like I said, depend on what use you have for one really.

Black magic from a few years ago also think matt had a white dayvan he has a family wonder how van couped with a familey?

That could be said about anything we buy.
chevy and ford made both day vans but looking on the web chevy won this battle where as ford won it in the car stakes????

there was a few custom vans at the sunny snday worthing show's don't know if any are still about.

i havent driven a dayvan but heavy on the front with that V8 sounds about right. handleing and and brakeing olds school set ? i miss driving a van you get attached to your vans i put 168k on one of my works vans in4 years wanted to keep it but boss said no.

think the uk day van would have to be the vwt5?

Very handy at car shows if you know someone with a van, as they are likely making a pot of tea/coffee out the back of the van, so just time it right to walk past them when the kettle boiled.
