As American doesn"t get to enjoy many of TG"s favourite hot hatchbacks or fast estates, it"s a bit unfair of us to complain about a car being made available only to our friends across the pond. But frankly, fairness can go out the window right now because we"ve just caught wind of this racier Subaru BRZ Series Yellow" and well, we"re gutted it"s only for our American friends.Besides the painfully obvious exterior paintwork (the only colour available, natch), the BRZ Series Yellow has been gifted a set of Brembo brakes featuring four-piston calipers on the front axle. Meanwhile, Subaru"s thrown Sachs dampers at its low-slung boxer-engined coupe for sharper handling, and a smart set of 17-inch alloy wheels. Looks good to us, in a sort of Playskool Bumblebee sorta way.The chassis upgrades come on top of some tweaks Subaru"s making to all 2017 BRZs, like new springs, a thicker rear anti-roll bar and beefed up suspension mounts. The only down-side (besides not being allowed to buy it in Britain, dammit) is no extra power to exploit the sportier chassis with. Like all 2017 BRZs, the Series Yellow develops 205bhp and 156lb ft from its 2.0-litre naturally aspirated boxer four-pot.Only 500 are being made, so even if you live Stateside, you"ll have to be quick to bag one. We"ll have to make do consoling ourselves in a Renaultsport Megane or Audi RS6Share this page: FacebookTwitterGoogle+WhatsAppMailtoCopy link
