If you thought you’d seen it all when it came to Frankenstein cars, you hadn’t, at least until you watch this video. This Australian built, American-powered Italian bull is one for the record books in more than one way…The Lamborghini Jalpa may have been born in the eighties, but still looks pretty darn badass even by today’s supercar standards. Though when it comes to this particular Jalpa, it’s the powerful LS1 engine with a 383 ci stroker kit and Garrett turbochargers that sets it far apart from all other Jalpas, and Lambos in general. The original Jalpa featured a V8 engine that produced a hefty 250 horsepower, which is somewhat laughable compared to the 690 horsepower at 14.9 psi of boost it produces now, which propels this beast to the quarter mile in 9.7 seconds!Considering the Jalpa didn’t live up to the raucous whine of that era’s V12 Lamborghini engines, this LS1 upgrade certainly made it faster, and more pleasing to the senses.Enjoy!Chime in with your thoughts on the forum. >>Tags: garrett, Jalpa, Lamborghini, ls1, muscle, racing, turbochargers
