Aston Martin"s first all-electric car is coming. It"s going to be called the Rapide E, and from 2019 will be built at the company"s new facility in St Athan, Wales. CEO Dr. Andy Palmer says the Rapide E will "spearhead development of Aston Martin"s low- and zero-emission vehicle strategy", which includes the relaunch of the Lagonda brand as "the world"s first luxury marque exclusively driven by zero emission powertrain technologies". Last summer Aston confirmed it would build 155 electric Rapides using tech from Williams Advanced Engineering. Range, performance, price and so-on are yet to be revealed.
