This is one wicked Chevy S10 race truck, participating at the Battle of the Street event at Silver Dollar Raceway in Georgia. While it might not look like a machine that will beat anything that lines up next to it, it does just that, beating all comers in the event"s "daily driver" class, as we see in this video from the Jmalcom2004 YouTube channel.A Subdued BeastThe details on this Chevy S10 pickup are slim, but in hunting around online, we have found some key details. Most notably, this truck is powered by a 540-cubic-inch big block Chevy V8, fitted with a nitrous setup of unknown size. It has a set of lightweight Weld Racing wheels on all four corners, with skinny front tires and fat slicks out back. It also has a cowl induction-style hood, but as fast race trucks go, this one is fairly subdued. This Chevy doesn"t have a huge wing out back or a roll cage that extends through the back of the cab into the bed. The nitrous setup isn"t on display, as it is tucked nearly under the tonneau cover and for a race truck, it isn"t all that loud. However, it is fast and the driver knows how to get away from the starting line making this truck a beast in this street car-based racing event. The Racing ActionUnfortunately, this is a no-time event, so we don"t get to see what kinds of elapsed times this Chevy S10 is running, but we don"t need times to know that it is crushing the competition. The video starts off with the Chevy comfortably crushing a Ford F-150 and a Pontiac G8 before facing a tough fight with an 80s Monte Carlo that still results in a win for the truck. The S10 then absolutely destroys a Hellcat Charger on the line and the last race against another G8 ends like most of the others, with the Chevy truck cruising to the win. While this truck is clearly much quicker than most of the competitors, this video shows how a good driver can take a quick race machine and drive it to an event win.Crank up your speakers and enjoy!Join the LS1tech forums today!Tags: Big Block, Chevy S10, Drag Racing, Nitrous, Video
