This is a fine example of the Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday Coupe in absolutely standard trim but with some useful updates. It was imported by my cousin 12 years ago from California,( where it was built-not in Detroit). It was first registered in San Francisco in 1961. It came with the full power 6458cc V8 engine and rear wheel spats. It is two tone green with matching upholstery. It was fitted with disc brakes and 15" wheels just before it left the States.<br />
Good Bits! It had a respray in the States at some point and all the chrome strips and embellishers are present and correct. Rear bumper was recently rechromed.Engine is good on 117,000 miles and has an upgraded 4 barrel carb. Gearbox was rebuilt quite recently at cost of nearly two grand. Exhaust shocks and tyres have all been done and alternator fitted. Headlining has been replaced. Seats were recovered some time back.It has full set of tools and spare. I have a lot of history, paperwork, brochures, handbook and workshop manual.<br />
Bad Points! It has had a few minor dings and some trim is dented. Front bumper is OK but would look good if rechromed. Windows can be temperamental. The generator light and the clock don"t work. The vinyl strips on the seats have split on front seat but rear is perfect. The car would look great with a fresh respray but it does present very well as it is and is superb structurally. This is a very big motor! It is priced to sell. Please ring me for a chat. Stewart.<br />
