We"ll get the bad news out of the way first: this isn"t a Koenigsegg Agera RS that you can actually buy, should you have the necessary financial arrangements or extraneous organs/children/pets you might want to offload. Because they all sold out over a year ago. But the good news is that it"s one of the most powerful Koenigsegg Agera RSs ever built. It is called the Koenigsegg Agera RS1, and it has premiered at the New York Auto Show. That"s on now.Cast your mind back to March 2015, and Christian von Koenigsegg announced that 25 Koenigsegg Agera RS cars would be built. Largely because the technology involved in developing the hugely sticky, fast and track-friendly One:1 was just too good to restrict to seven models. Those 25 sold out within a year, and this RS1 is, um, one of them. We"re told it"s a US-bound Koenigsegg, specifically named by its owner, who was "intensively" involved in the entire build process. As such, this particular Agera RS features the more powerful version of CvK"s 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8, producing a whopping 1,360bhp (other RSs make 1,160bhp) and 1,011lb ft of torque. It"s matched to a seven-speed automatic gearbox and rear-wheel-drive, with a suite of traction and stability systems. Probably a good idea to have those.Especially when Koenigsegg says this RS1 - which weighs 1,394kg fully loaded can accelerate from 0-62mph in 2.8secs, and 0-186mph in 12.3secs. And like other RSs, it is also capable of melting your face in fast cornering, with up to 1.8G referenced, thanks to elongated front and rear double wishbone suspension and active suspension and aerodynamics. If you can catch it, you"ll spot it"s white Arctic White" with blue highlights on the winglets, skirts, diffuser and rear wing. Inside, there"s more blue Alcantara and polished carbon fibre/black anodised aluminium trim. There are creature comforts too, like air-con, sat nav, Bluetooth, electric seats, adjustable pedals, a hydraulic lift (to get you over speed bumps and the like), tyre pressure monitoring and many warning systems. You can of course, remove the roof too.Lovely, no?
