1955 Buick special convertible that I imported from Florida in 2015.<br />
Great Original 264 Nail head V8 and 2 speed auto transmission. Very good original interior and almost every thing working.<br />
I have spent over 6000 in parts alone since her arrival.<br />
I have been driving this car all summer long she starts and runs great, I have done some long journeys from Somerset to Midlands with no problems.<br />
Ref; convertible top I have replace with new, Bow pads, Well liner, Both pistons, All fluid lines, White convertible top and all frame rubbers.<br />
Other items I have replaced with new are Rear coil springs and insulators, Carpets and all sound proofing on floor, Outer door handles and mirrors, Chrome door sills, Many new parts and replacement parts to get the heaters working including the under seat heating.<br />
Starter solenoid, Fuel pump has been totally rebuilt, Carb and water pump have been reconditioned, lots of freeze plugs replaced. Fuel sender, Fuel tank was removed cleaned and sealed before being replaced, Tri bar head lamps and rubbers. Recent wind screen with blue tint.<br />
To many smaller bits n bobs to list. <br />
In the trunk are lots of parts that I purchased but have not fitted including all door and trunk rubbers, All brake shoes and cylinders even though the ones on the car are fine, Kick panels, more chrome door sills, Under bonnet insulation and a box of other stuff.<br />
The radio sounds amazing however I think the internals have been replaced with new. Also comes with a new stereo to take Ipod.<br />
In general the car is now in great shape however it"s not perfect, you"ll need over 60k for one of those. If you can find one. The paint is about 15 / 20 years old and has some imperfections but still looks good, the inner sills / rockers need attention due to rust, the outer ones have been replaced at some stage, however I have imported all new inner and outer sills ready for installation. All floors are good no patching. There is a small split either side of the bonnet not really noticeable but needs sorting eventually.<br />
Not included in the sale are a brand new set of True spoke wheels costing 2000 they will take the very nice tyres on the car. { negotiable}<br />
Most of the chrome on the car is in great shape apart from one piece if trim on the rear wing, a small amount of peeling near front number plate on bolt holes. the rear tail lamps are very shiny but pitted as is the rear emblem. Steering is all very good but typical of a 50"s yank with no power steering.<br />
This car looks amazing with the top up and especially when down, a great cruiser and prize winner.<br />
Do I want to get rid of this car? Not really I love it but there are so many amazing cars to own and you never know what"s around the corner so I"ll have a red 58 Impala next please. Must be excellent condition.<br />
