High-Horsepower Modified Cadillacs Blaze Down the Highways of The Copper StateThe state of Arizona is known for its wealth of copper, the Grand Canyon, and heat. According to U.S. Climate Data, the average high temperature for the city of Phoenix in July is 106 degrees. That’s hot. But do you know what’s even hotter? Souped-up Cadillac CTS-Vs going flat out.Granted, the people who are making them do that on Arizona’s highways in the following 1320 Video footage are breaking the law big time, but we just couldn’t resist watching them treat the speed limit like a warmup. We’d never seen a 600-horsepower Dodge Neon SRT-4 take on a Nissan GT-R with 1,110 horsepower before. That ended as you would imagine it would (although there is a gearbox-related twist to the match). Then came race after race of ‘roided-out Cadillac CTS-Vs. Most of the filming is done from a 500-horsepower first-generation model. The camera man riding shotgun gets an electronic eyeful of 1,000+ horsepower Vs take each other on, and even race against fast-and-light sport bikes, such as the BMW S 1000 RR. It’s a battle royale of four-doors vs. two, twin turbos vs. nitrous, cars vs. bikes, and Cadillacs vs. Cadillacs and other competitors. So turn on the air conditioning, grab a cold drink, and click play to watch it. It’s a whole lot less nerve-racking than watching out for flashing red and blue lights in your rearview mirror…Chime in with your thoughts on the forum. >>Follow @derekshiekhiTags: Cadillac, CTS-V, Drag Racing, LSA, Video
