This very nice and now rare Last of the chrome bumpers 1972 Corvette is coming to us from its owner who is actively seeking a p/x on another classic car of a lower price, to release some funds for another project so if you have something why not give us a try.<br />
Having been purchased at auction last summer, the current owner was commissioned by the buyer to sort out all the silly little problems most cars of this era tend to have. Having previously received a lot of attention including things like a freshly re-trimmed interior, new exhaust, new fuel tank etc his work was mainly sorting out the electrics, servicing and tuning the motor and generally getting it ready for use. With a change of heart bought on by the then owner falling for a 69 Fast-back Mustang he was restoring, the Vette came to him in the deal and he has now instructed us to offer it for sale.<br />
As previously mentioned the 72 Vette was the last of the chrome bumpers front and rear and the only one to have the square exhaust tips with the Egg crate grills so is indeed a rare and sought after car. Its body work is in good condition, chrome is all good and the interior just renewed. Mechanically the engine is sweet with an exhaust note that you could make a fortune from if you could bottle it. The four speed manual box and clutch operate as designed and the brakes work as 1972 Vette brakes should, not up to modern standards but perfectly well if you drive with this in mind. <br />
The general consensus of opinion is that the motor is not standard, not just from how it sounds but how it gets down the road! Definitely better than a standard car would. There is 366 ci stamped on the block which would again suggest work has been carried out, including the original 350 cube being over bored to increase capacity. We will update as and when more information comes available along with better pictures once we have the car.<br />
