There"s an awful lot to say about this car... so here goes:-

Firstly, I"ll assume if you"re looking at this, then you know what a Corvette Stingray is. This is the 1974 model which was the first year without the chrome bumpers and the last year before the nasty rubber bumpers were introduced. It"s the ONLY year that has the rear end manufactured in two parts (due to limitations of manufacturing processes at the time) so it"s without doubt the rarest of the C3"s.

I purchased this car at the end of 2015 from a local guy who imported it from the US, and did all of the registration with DVLA etc. for me. So it"s fully documented and registered for use in the UK. It"s also just passed its MOT (2nd March 2017) so has almost a full year. The only advisory was that the parking brake was within limits, but only just - so the cable may need adjusting in the future.

Since owning the car, I"ve had a HUGE amount of work done to both body and engine all of which I have receipts for and all of which was carried out by Quest Brothers Classic Cars in St Ives. They know the car better than anyone and would be happy to talk to any prospective buyers about it I"m sure.

The car is ready for the show season and I thoroughly enjoyed taking it down to Pistons at the Park last week in Stansted.

Key points:-
1 previous UK registered keeper (importer)
MOT 2nd March 2017
Runs on Unleaded
85,000 miles on the clock
Classic Car Insurance
Tax Exempt
Starts first time / every time
Bodywork is in good overall condition, some careful and sensitive touching-up has been completed by the Quest bodyshop, with paint matching done to ensure a seamless job. It"s now in a position where there is nothing further to do on the exterior.
Seats are in good condition with no tears or rips
Carpets are in good condition apart from in the rear baggage compartment where they are a worn a little thin in places
Sold with after market mats (originals in hand)
Haynes manual included
All dials work apart from the clock
Air conditioning has been converted and runs nice and cold
Original owners handbook included
Headlamps work correctly and raise and lower in the manner that is usual for these vacuum actuators - i.e. a little hesitantly
Wheels are all bright, clean, excellent condition and tyres look as good as new with very little wear
Roof T-Top panels are snug, easy to get on and off and secure properly with no ingress of water
Power steering makes it a doddle to manoeuvre
US number plates are not legal over here, but I have the standard ones too - so easy to switch
Work done:-
Brand new interior door cards (originals in hand)
Brand new wooden steering wheel (original in hand)
Brand new "Focal" speaker system and JL Audio active sub fitted, with bluetooth receiver and controller, and rear interior LED light (this work was done by Audiofile in Bishops Stortford at a cost of 1500) (original speaker in hand and original radio unit still fitted but not connected)
All wheels laser-aligned and new shims fitted, she drives straight and true
Full service carried out including replacement of plugs and all fluids, oil filter, distributor rotor, cap, points, gas filter, air filter
3-speed Hydromatic auto box changes up and down sweetly
Brand new radiator, water pump, all belts and new thermostat fitted
All lights / indicators / reversing lamps converted correctly to comply with UK regulations
Handbrake inspection and full rebuild
Driver"s door new strap spring
New power steering hoses
New outside mirror
New screen washer bottle, motor and pipes
New steering arm, shock absorbers,
New rear leaf spring bushes, top and bottom ball joints, tie rod ends, steering rag joint
New brake calipers, discs and pads all round
Total spent on the car in the last 12 months = 10,897.52 (bloody hell... that adds up!)
Finally, just to say - I can"t describe the joy that this car brings, both to drive and also to park up and watch people"s faces (young and old) light up and take photos of it. It"s been a pleasure but now lack of space forces sale.
Cheers.
