Fans of slugfest endurance racing, we bring good news! Our very own Chris Harris will be taking part in two rounds of this year"s Blancpain GT Series in a factory-run McLaren. And he"s not hanging around. His first outing is next weekend at Silverstone, before heading over to Belgium at the end of July to compete in the gruelling 24 Hours of Spa.Yes, that Spa 24 hours. The event that Chris has unfinished business with given he had to retire after a 19-hour fight against the elements during his first attempt at the endurance epic last year with Team Parker Racing in a Bentley Continental GT3.Chris claimed that it was the most gruelling race he"d experienced but was desperate to go back and have another go. And now he is.But not in a Bentley. Instead, this year he"s teamed up with McLaren"s in-house (and last year"s Blancpain Endurance Cup Champions) Garage 59 to pilot a 650S GT3 alongside two other very handy men; McLaren Automotive Chief Test Driver Chris Goodwin and Alexander West."I am particularly excited about returning to Spa - it is a special place for any car fan," Harris said. "To have the opportunity to race in the 24-hour race again, this time in a McLaren, should be a pretty special experience."We wish Chris the best of luck and recommend that you head out to Spa to witness the spectacle for yourself. In the meantime, check out Chris"s video from last year"s event to whet your whistle.Share this page: FacebookTwitterGoogle+WhatsAppMailtoCopy link
