Chrysler Group on Aug. 12 announced creation of a vehicle safety and compliance office, and appointed the former Senior Vice President-Engineering, Scot Kunselman (SAE Member, 1985), to the post. Previously, the company"s global engineering group was responsible for vehicle safety and regulatory compliance. The function now will be served by a stand-alone organization. Kunselman, who most recently was in charge of NAFTA Purchasing and Supplier Quality, will report directly to CEO Serio Marchionne. Also on Aug. 12, Chrysler announced the appointment of John Nigro (SAE Member, 2010) as head of NAFTA Product Development. He replaces Mark Chernoby (SAE Member, 2003) who was appointed Chief Operating Officer Product Development, overseeing the activities of the Engineering and Development organization across the four operating regions.
