Want to spend north of a million quid on a Porsche 911, but want real heritage rather than reimagined style? Step this way.On the same day Singer shows off two of its latest commissions, another classic 911 is up for sale at H&H Classics for a similarly mysterious (and large) sum of money. It"s a little different to them, though. This is a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS, widely regarded as one of the finest 911s and, indeed, cars of all time. It"s a right-hand-drive car, the last imported to the UK, and one of 17 of those which came with the more focused Lightweight specification. That included thinner panels and glass and the ditching of non-essentials like rear seats and a glovebox, all in the name of extra speed. And with plausible reason: this car has genuine motorsport kudos, having competed in a number of rallies. It placed highly in the RAC Rally in the UK, as well as whipping a load of other RSs into shape on the international rally scene.
