Ladies and gentlemen, in the week that BMW celebrates its centenary as a carmaker, allow us to introduce a car that"s, well, barely a BMW anymore. What it is is a full on, track-day monster.But a road-legal one. Though it looks like a part of the Galactic Empire"s Imperial Fleet, there is in fact a BMW M3 buried deep within. It"s currently being listed by the good folks over at Munich Legends, and requires some explanation.In 2011, it was a standard, E92-generation M3. V8, rear-drive, some insides and noise. In the years between 2011 and now, it has been transformed into something altogether more sinister. More V8, more rear-drive, less insides, lots more noise.So, deep breath the V8 was treated to a carbon air intake system, a Pectel SQ6 ECU, a performance lightweight racing wiring loom and a full Akrapovic titanium exhaust system.Then comes Nitron NTR three-way adjustable suspension, AP Racing six-pot front brakes and performance pads all round, RAYS forged wheels measuring 18in, carbon doors, a carbon bonnet, polycarbonate side and rear windows, and a front splitter.Then comes the all-important carbon GT3-spec rear wing, a roll cage, carbon race seats, a digital dashboard, a fully adjustable pedal box, brake-bias adjustment, a racing battery, a fire extinguisher, brake cooling ducts, and front dive planes to balance that rear wing"s downforce. Senior, you"ll agree, and far from a wings and stickers job.Power now sits at 500bhp, and with half a tank of fuel onboard, you"re looking at a weight of 1300kg. "A considerable amount of time and effort was spent achieving 50:50 weight balance," explains Munich Legends. So just like the standard M3 then.How much for this slice of track-honed exotica? 45,000. It"s done around 47,000 miles in total 40k on the standard engine, 7k with the upgrades and boasts just two owners since new. There"s also a BMW service history too.Fancy it? (Clue: YES).
