Remember when you were a kid, and you saved up your pocket money to buy little toy cars? Wasn"t it always more exciting to spend an extra quid or two to get a few bunched together in a little set?

Well-off supercar buyers can now experience the same feeling, thanks to this rather unique proposition from dealer Alastair Bols in Essex. This is a Ferrari 458 Speciale and McLaren 675LT, arguably the two most exciting supercars of the last decade, together in the world"s most exciting twin-pack. Lovely.

They match, too, with similarly white paint schemes. The Speciale has its stripe and mirrors picked out in metallic blue, while the 675LT"s colour flourish is saved for its red brake calipers.

Need reminding of the specs? The Speciale is the, um, weedier of the two. Its 4.5-litre V8 engine produces 597bhp, while the 675LT has a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 with a mildly demonic 666bhp. The Ferrari"s 3.0sec 0-62mph time and 201mph top speed also fall the tiniest bit fowl of the McLaren"s 2.9sec and 205mph.

But then the British car won"t howl towards the thick end of 8,000rpm like the Italian, whose engine is the most glorious parting shot to naturally aspirated V8 Ferraris imaginable. The McLaren counters with a more liveable ride quality that might make it the daily driver" choice of the two.

Both cars come fully serviced and with the remainder of their warranties, and the combined mileage of the two is 1,882, so they"re as good as new.

Like adorable dogs which can"t be split, they"re only being sold together, at a cost of 699,900. Given the way both cars" values have rocketed since their limited production runs came to a close, that isn"t quite as scary as it might first appear. Just make sure you get your change in coins, so you"ve got something to toss in order to decide which you"ll drive each morning.

So, dear reader. Would you spend the best part of 700k on this pair? And is this the best, most thrilling Matchbox multipack ever, or is it just a bit of a gimmicky sales technique?
