It's all come down to this. Wales Rally GB starts today, and as you read this I'll be heading up to Deeside near Chester for scrutineering and signing-on.
And yes, it's been a rather unusual couple of days - until this morning I was in Italy on TG's incredible hypercar test, driving the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder and LaFerrari around a beautiful bit of Northern Italy. It was tough.
Now I'm going from the sublime to the ridiculous, and getting to fulfill a lifetime's ambition by taking part in Wales Rally GB. This one might actually be tough.
As you may have read last week, after the mechanical issues we had on the Cambrian Rally, the Hyundai i20 is now on storming form after a successful test at Sweet Lamb. You saw the pictures last week, now watch it on video. Sounds good, doesn't it?
I have to keep reminding myself that only a few months ago this was just another white-goods supermini on its way to an easy life of supermarkets and bingo halls.
I'll try to write something from the rally each evening, but if you see us out there and take any pics, track me down on Twitter and send them across - we'll put the best up on the website.
This evening co-driver Jack Morton and I will be in Colwyn Bay for the ceremonial start. If you're going to be there - or at the Deeside service park, or at any of the stops over the next few days - come and say hello. Our Hyundai i20 is car 260, we'll be the ones wearing the TopGear overalls, and I'll be the one with the can't-believe-I'm-here grin.
