The first 2018 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Carbon 65 Edition will be auctioned off by Barrett Jackson for a military charity.The Chevrolet Corvette officially turns 65 in 2018. To celebrate the birthday of the great American sport car, the 2018 Grand Sport and Z06 are available with the new Carbon 65 Edition. Only 650 examples of these uniquely-decorated Corvettes will be made. However, General Motors has donated the first one to charity auction. With help from the Barrett Jackson team, Chevrolet is auctioning off 2018 Corvette Z06 Carbon 65 Edition #1 in January, with the proceeds going to the George W. Bush Presidential Center"s Military Service Initiative.Corvette Z06 Carbon 65 EditionThe Carbon 65 Edition package for the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 coupe is only available with the 3LZ trim package. So this limited edition supercar starts with all of the premium features of the loaded supercar. This includes a leather-clad cockpit with Napa leather seats, the Performance Data Recorder, Navigation, a premium Bose sound system and all of the standard mechanical features highlighted by the supercharged LT4 V8. Like the rest of the new Z06 Corvettes, the Carbon 65 Edition packs 650 horsepower and 650lb-ft of torque. This particular car sending all of that power towards the rear wheels with the 8-speed automatic transmission.The Carbon 65 Edition package for the 2018 Corvette Z06 coupe includes Ceramic Matrix Gray paint, blue fender stripes, Carbon 65 door graphics, black blade-style Z06 wheels with machined trim, blue brake calipers, visible carbon-fiber ground effects, a visible carbon-fiber hood center, the visible carbon-fiber roof package, the new visible carbon-fiber rear spoiler, the new visible carbon-fiber quarter intake ducts, Carbon Flash badges and Carbon Flash outside mirrors.On the inside, the Corvette Z06 Carbon 65 Edition being auctioned off for charity features Jet Black suede-wrapped interior with blue stitching, a carbon-fiber steering wheel rim with glossy carbon-fiber interior trim, the Competition Sport seats and Carbon Edition door sill plates.Carbon 65 Z06 #1Carbon 65 Z06 #1 will roll across the auction block on January 20th at 4:30pm Pacific. When the bidding ends, the money paid for this supercharged Corvette will go to the George W. Bush Presidential Center"s Military Service Initiative.This is a charitable group which provides transitional support to post-9/11 veterans and their families, helping soldiers find long-term employment and deal with the other struggles of returning to civilian life.In order to add an even more unique touch, 2018 Corvette Z06 Carbon 65 Edition #1 has had the airbag signed by President George W. Bush.
