Mother Nature doesn't care about Corvettes. Emphatically demonstrated by this CCTV footage of several ‘Vettes being swallowed by a sinkhole, which formed under the National Corvette Museum.
The 40-foot natural phenomena occurred at 5:44am yesterday morning underneath the museum's iconic 140-foot Skydome, swallowing eight cars in the process, and prompting the NCM to evacuate the remaining 80 vehicles. Only two cars remain, as authorities try and work out the safest way to remove them.
The not-for-profit museum's just down the road from GM's Kentucky-based Bowling Green Assembly plant, where Corvettes have been built since 1981. Show your support by throwing it a donation at this link. Now watch the carnage. Then the aftermath. Then poke around GM's slightly less destroyed secret stash. Then read about the new 'un.
