Cyclist runs a red light. No justice this time.

On my way down to the Port Solent meet, I stopped at the red light as every road user should do, and this cyclist just blows through the red light. Sadly no justice served this time. Should only be a matter of time though.

they seem to think the law does not apply to them. how often do see cyclist at night without lights. its time they had to have insurance and take a test

Thing is if we hit them for going through a red light, or not seeing them without lights on. Or clipping them when they pulling out of a junction onto a main road you are on and suddenly have to change you road position. The driver gets the flack unless you can perfectly hide the evidence.

lol, brilliant.

legislate them

its high time that every cyclist should wear a helmet and those over the age of 16 should mandatory wear a helmet , hi vis and have insurance which must be shown to police , local council official or any other authorised person requesting it , details could be held on mobile or on the person . Lee on solent sea front and stokes bay has had thousands spent on dedicated cycle paths but the " i want to be a olympic cyclist brigade" insist on holding up traffic riding their racing cycles in lycra which makes them look like sausage meat trying to escape the skin !!!! the cycle path is for cyclists the road is for motor vehicles .

you can just imagine the insurance response ...... so you were riding on the road at a busy hour of the day alongside a dedicated cycle path which was placed there by local authority so you could ride safely and you ignored the path and fell or was clipped by a vehicle ?????? our survey said >>>>

Why only those over 16 to wear a helmet?

Ahh yes, MAMIL’s or middle aged men in Lycra! Is there is worse sight? :hand:

quite ironic you posted this video as apparently those over paid champagne quaffing huge salaried MP's are to call for a death by dangerous cycling offence !!! its on the net as of today and in the news . i was driving along lee on solent front today and a mamil was holding up the traffic 10 vehicles in total all because he refused to cycle on the designated cycle path . its like because he has a skinny racing bike it MUST be on the road at all times and the cycle path is for children and families !! what a complete utter donut !!! only time will take its course

Being a cyclist myself (ok I only use it to commute from the train station of an evening) but I always ride the bike as I would drive a car. Luckily for me, 95% of my ride home is on cycle paths :)
